Chaos forces suspension of Buwekula County NRM flag bearer declaration
The declaration of the NRM flag bearer for Buwekula County, Mubende District, has been suspended following chaotic scenes that erupted between Maj. Joseph Kakooza and Edward Kulabirawo, the two leading candidates, prompting electoral officials to halt the process pending resolution. RDC Umar Lule Mawiya says that after a meeting with Registrar Amos Atulinda, the NRM electoral committee agreed that results from the two disputed villages—where voting took place at night—should not be considered. However, this decision did not sit well with Major Kakooza’s camp, leading to a standoff.
