School feeding plan to ensure that students get healthy meals
The Ministry of Health has drafted a proposal for school menus aimed at advising and guiding schools on how to diversify diets for learners. The goal is to ensure that students receive healthy, balanced meals as part of efforts to address challenges related to school feeding.
The proposed menus include locally available foods in different regions to supplement learners' diets. According to Grace Ocheng Prospero, the Principal Nutritionist at the Ministry of Health, the proposal is still in progress and will be presented to various relevant authorities and hope that the process will be completed before the end of the year.
