Experts call for regulation as Uganda’s used car market faces distortion
The used car market in Uganda is experiencing significant distortion, with industry experts calling for urgent regulatory intervention. According to Grace Wilson Akoyo, one of the aftermarket dealers, the absence of regulations around car bonds is creating confusion and impacting market transparency. While car bonds offer buyers a wider variety of choices, they are also fueling a fragmented market, leading to increased prices and inconsistent vehicle quality.
