Youth leaders want MP contenders disqualified
The race for Uganda’s National Female Youth MP seat, has been hit by a series of petitions seeking to disqualify two of the three candidates in the race. A section of youth leaders have petitioned the NRM Electoral Commission, seeking to nullify the candidature of a one Fiona Nakku, who is said to be above the upper age limit of 30 years from running for this position. The youth group has also drawn in the second candidate for National Youth Woman MP, Mercy Kanyesigye, as well as the National Youth Council member, Daniel Ongom, although the grounds for the nullification of their candidature are unclear.
