Western region urban authorities urged to prioritize environmental protection
Urban authorities in the Western Region have been tasked with promoting environmental protection in their respective areas. The call was made by Restetuta Kavuma Nabwire, the Country Director of AMICAL Uganda, during a regional annual general meeting for urban leaders from western Uganda in Hoima City. She highlighted that the revised strategic plan for the Alliance of Mayors and Municipal Leaders on HIV/AIDS will run for five years, focusing on environmental protection, solid waste management, reforestation, addressing the challenge of non-communicable diseases, and combating HIV/AIDS.
