UNRA to triple ferry trips to Buvuma islands
The Uganda National Roads Authority has agreed to increase the number of trips made by MV Buvuma across Lake Victoria, as a way of easing transport problems in the Island district. This follows concerns by district leaders over the congestion in traffic from the islands to the mainland. The district chairman Adrian Wasswa Ddungu says they were compelled to act as district offices are now closed on both Mondays and Fridays as staff fight their way in and out of the district using the ferry.
