Lecturers resolve to end strike over salary arrears
Lecturers of Mountains of the Moon University in Fort Portal city who laid down their work tools for over a month due to salary arrears of eight months, have resolved to end their industrial strike and resume normal operations this week with online teaching following a University governance council sitting.
The university staff went on strike in August and they suspended their services to the university and petitioned the vice-chancellor Prof John Kasenene demanding to know when the government will take over the university to become public. However the gov't take over of the university has now been confirmed, and the lecturers are back to work.
