Bankers Conference focuses on remittances
This year’s Annual Bankers Conference is focusing on discussions around remittances. The issues affecting remittances include taxation, harmonising technologies, and transfer fees. Last year, Uganda recorded remittances worth 1.4 billion US dollars, accounting for three percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The Middle East emerged as a key topic of discussion due to labor exports, as Rachael Nabisubi reports.
