Gov’t admits that fuel reserves are empty
The government says it has no fuel in its reserves even as a crisis looms. Finance ministry officials told MPs on the finance committee that even if the reserves were available, they would do little to deal with the ongoing shortage which started last week. The shortage has seen prices rise up to 12,000 shillings per litre of petrol in some places.
