Low turn out on first day of voters’ register update
Just like in Kampala, the the National Voters' Register update started with a low turnout in most parts of the country. Officials in some districts struggled to work with faulty gadgets. Some areas, where the update stations had been demarcated, did not have either Electoral Commission or NIRA officials. Authorities hope that more people will embrace the exercise in the coming days, before its closure on 10th February 2025. Let us look at some of the action upcountry.
