WORLD SME DAY: Low capacity to export persists
The Covid pandemic wiped out as many as 400,000 jobs in the SME sector and it is still reeling from that impact, but new opportunities in the export sector remain largely utilised. Observers say this has affected productivity levels, leaving the country’s largest employer unable to fully contribute to the desperately needed economic recovery.
