NCS rewards olympians and paralympians
The National Council of Sports has rewarded the best performing Olympians and Paralympians with cash prizes in a function held this afternoon at the council headquarters. Those who scooped gold have bagged Shs 50 million while silver has been rewarded with Shs 30 million. The bronze medalist too walked away with Shs 20 million. Uganda scored two gold medals at the Olympics, through Peruth Chemutai in 3,000 meters Steeplechase and Joshua Cheptegei in the 5,000 meters. Cheptegei also won silver and while Jacob Kiplimo also took Bronze. David Emong was the only Paralympian to return with a medal - bronze.
