Uganda Human Rights Commission vows to protect media freedoms
Officials from the Uganda Human Rights Commission express their dedication to preventing any infringements on media freedoms, whether by state or non-state entities. Mariam Wangadya, the commission's chairperson, conveyed this commitment while meeting with a group of journalists in Hoima City. She mentioned that the commission has received multiple complaints from journalists across various regions of the country, and these grievances are currently under review by the Commission's tribunal in Kampala.
