Muhammad Nsereko retains Kampala Central seat
Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko has retained his seat in parliament, after defeating his challenger Fred Nyanzi on a technicality. High Court Judge Margaret Apinyi ruled Nyanzi had effectively failed to serve his challenger with summons to appear in court, making it impossible for the case to proceed. She concurred with the Electoral Commission lawyer, Eric Sabiiti that in failing to serve his challenger, Nyanzi failed to meet the basic standards for the case. Nyanzi had initially sought to overturn Nsereko's January election.
