Lukwago slams KCCA over shoddy road contracts
The Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, criticised the Kampala Capital City Authority for awarding contracts to what he called irresponsible contractors. Lukwago said some of the companies contracted to work on roads did not pay enough attention to their operations, resulting in shoddy work that is soon damaged. His criticism came as he formally launched works on the Kayanja-Ka-Kabaka Road, which was recently awarded to DOTT Services. Motorists have complained about the poor state of city roads, which are riddled with potholes and often turn into rivers whenever it rains.
