NEW COFFEE MARKET: Uganda eyes Middle East
As Uganda cut ties with the usual European markets over some market access challenges, it is now widening its footprint to the Middle East where an expanding middle class is getting a taste for coffee. In January, Uganda exported 402,212 sixty kilogramme bags of coffee valued at $61.98 million. Uganda coffee is now highly sought after globally because of its quality and unique attributes, Betty Ndagire reports.
