Parliament passes NSSF Bill, employers who don’t remit workers’ savings to be jailed
Employers who do not remit their worker's contributions to NSSF face a five year jail term on top of having to pay all the arrears. This is contained in the NSSF Amendment Bill 2021 passed by Parliament on Wednesday. In addition to granting 20% mid term access to benefits to individuals who are 45 and above and have saved for 10 years, persons with disabilities who have saved for 10 years and aged at least 40 have 50% Mid term access to their savings.
