New support center established for muslim women victims of gender-based violence
A new facility designed to provide psychosocial and legal support to Muslim women who are victims of gender-based violence has been established, with a call for such victims to seek this support. The facility, located in Mulawa, Kira, has been set up by the Islamic Women’s Initiative for Justice, Law, and Peace to counter the increasing cases of violence by providing counseling and other forms of support. It also aims to promote a culture of seeking justice in order to punish the perpetrators involved.
