Government commemorates Heroes' Day every June 9th, in memory of the first NRM/A heroes executed in Kikandwa, Luweero by the UNLA in 1981. The area played a pivotal role in the five-year guerrilla war that brought President Museveni to power. As we celebrate Heroes' Day, we ponder the lessons learned.
