Presidential aspirant Nancy Kalembe yet to pay UGX 20m nomination fee
The trend of women vying for presidential seats in the last three presidential elections could be broken this time unless former broadcaster turned politician, Nancy Linda Kalembe is successful on Tuesday. Miria Obote stood in 2006, Beti Olive Namisango Kamya in 2011 and Moureen Kyalya Walube in 2016. 2020 looked like it would have a female candidate in Nancy Linda Kalembe but this might not come to pass, However, Kalembe still has a chance to get nominated if she can bank the 20 million nomination fee that the electoral commission was demanding before nominating her.
