World Bank injects $300 million into Uganda to boost micro-irrigation and support farmers
The World Bank provided $300 million to Uganda under the Uganda Inter-Governmental Fiscal Transfers Program, with part of the funding allocated to micro-irrigation.
This initiative, which is set to close in the 2024/2025 financial year, has already benefited over 600,000 farmers.
However, one of the major challenges has been the high cost of financing, which made it difficult for some farmers to afford the necessary equipment, as Ronah Nahabwe reports.
