UWA kills hippo following residents’ complaints
Uganda Wildlife Authority enforcement officers have shot dead a hippopotamus that has been giving residents of Kanyangeya village in Kasese municipality sleepless nights. UWA spokesperson Bashir Hangi said this was done to protect both human life and their farms. However, the residents demanded to be given some of the game meat as compensation for their damaged crops.
