Women lawyers petition constitutional court over pregnant girl
The Uganda Association of Women Lawyers has petitioned the Constitutional Court to challenge what they have termed as a violation of the rights of Sarah Namukisa, who was recently discontinued from her studies at a Medical Laboratory Training School in Jinja.
According to Susan Baluka, FIDA Uganda's Manager, Strategic Litigation, the decision to suspend Namukisa because she is pregnant is discriminatory and against the right to education.
