Police begins recruiting election constables ahead of polls

The Uganda Police Force has kicked off the recruitment exercise for Election Constables ahead of the 2026 General Election. The exercise, currently underway at Koboko Boma Grounds, has attracted an overwhelming turnout of applicants, even though the district is required to recruit only 575 constables. Furthermore, according to the Police Force, a total of 100,000 Election Constables will be recruited nationwide to support the smooth conduct of the forthcoming elections.
