Landslide survivors in Bukwo endure harsh conditions

Thousands of landslide survivors in Bukwo District are enduring harsh conditions at a makeshift camp in Tulel Sub-county, where they have gone days without clean water, toilets, or proper shelter. Many sleep in the cold with only posho and beans to eat, as they await government relief that has yet to arrive. The Uganda Wildlife Authority has now warned that more disasters are likely to hit the Sebei region if the heavy rains continue, blaming massive ecosystem destruction caused by human activity. While donating 500 blankets to the displaced families at Tulel Primary School and Health Centre, UWA officials urged urgent tree-planting and conservation programs to restore degraded areas.
