On 14th January 5.8 million Ugandans renewed Museveni’s mandate as president for another 5 years, extending his presidency to 40 years. In the same election 25 ministers were floored as the National Unity Platform swept the central region, becoming the leading opposition party in parliament. But what could have gone wrong for the NRM in the central region and what lessons can the opposition pick from the exercise?
