Uganda withdraws from Tour De Lunsor at 11th hour
The National Cycling team has pulled out of the Sierra Leone leg of the Africa Cycling Tour. This follows failure to acquire resources in time to facilitate the team’s travel. Uganda was gearing to participate in the Tour de Lunsor of Sierra Leone with a view of accumulating points to aid qualification to the World Cycling Championship. Cycling officials say they will used the funds that were acquired late to field a team in one of the five remaining tours across the world. Uganda is ranked 74th in the world and fifth in Africa.
