National Unity Platform’s Robert Kyagulanyi is already disputing the results being declared by the Electoral commission saying that the 2021 general elections vote tallying process is the worst rigging this country has ever experienced.

Speaking to journalists at his home in Magere, Kyagulanyi accused the ruling party, NRM of having a hand in the electoral commission’s role of overseeing the election process.

“Museveni is trying so hard to paint a picture that he is in the lead. What a joke,” Kyagulanyi said.

In his address, the pop-star turned politician said that Justice Simon Byabakama, the chairperson of the EC was not in-charge of the institution and that several operatives had been deployed at the national tally centre to feed him with false information.

“The chairperson of the EC, Byabakama, other state institutions and shamelessly, some media houses are trying to usurp the will of the people of Uganda,” Kyagulanyi told journalists

Kyagulanyi who is commonly known as Bobi Wine was quick to point out the factors the he believes were designed to enable the NRM rig elections without interference from NUP.

With his friends and some members of his campaigns team in prison, Kyagulanyi says that the vote had already been manipulated as these were the people who would have been critical on the elections day for the NUP party.

“The regime stripped itself further naked. There intentions were laid bare for anyone to see,” Kyagulanyi said.

Earlier in the electoral process, NUP, other opposition players, CSOs and others had come up with a digital application designed to monitor the elections process at the various polling stations country wide. Kyagulanyi believes that the shutting down the internet was an effort by the government to render this application useless, among other things.

“This app was supposed to share results from all polling stations in record time. Citizens would also be able to upload videos showing what is happening in various places,” Bobi Wine said.

Justice Byabakama, after declaring the 3rd set of election results, responded to Kyagulanyi’s claims stating that the ghetto raised politician should provide evidence backing him up.

“The onus is upon Kyagulanyi to show and to prove in what context and how the results are rigged,” Byabakama said in his update.

The EC argues that the National tally centre is the last to received the numbers from the vote count. At the polling stations, results are supposed to be declared in the presence of witnesses and party agents. A declarations of results form is then signed and given to a candidate or their representative before the results are sent to the National Tally Centre.

“Since Hon Kyagulanyi is in procession of the 34,684 declaration of results forms, let him show the country in what manner the results are rigged,” Byakamasaid.
