Earlier today, Uganda experienced a country wide electricity outage, the outage lasted over 30 minutes.
According to the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company, the company charged with evacuating power from the different dams, there was an outage on the recent emergency transmission between Owen Falls and Lugogo.
According to the company, Uganda has been evacuating electricity on emergency towers after the main lines were vandalised.
Power was eventually restored in some parts of the country, and the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company says they are working on restoring power to the rest of the country.

Vandalism of National transmission lines is a worrying trend, and this is not the first time it is happening.

In the weeks that followed Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi's chaotic trip to the US, there was a power outage on the night he was meant to appear on the Straight Talk Africa show. This was blamed on vandalised transmission lines.
