Winfred Matsiko, the ruling NRM party candidate in the just concluded by-election for Rukungiri District Woman MP has rejected the results. 

Matsiko's bitter rival FDC candidate Betty Muzanira garnered over 50,000 of the votes cast against Matsiko's 46,000 plus votes. 

Matsiko protested the decision by Rukungiri Returning Officer Omar Kiyimba to cancel results from some polling stations which in FDC challenged and presented evidence that they had been doctored through ballot stuffing.

However, in a statement to newsrooms, Rogers Mulindwa, the ruling NRM party secretariat spokesman, said the ruling NRM party has conceded defeat in Rukungiri
