Mulago Hospital has, so far, received 27 people injured by the twin explosions that happened in Kampala City Center on Tuesday morning.

One of the explosions happened at around 10 am at Parliamentary avenue near Jubilee Insurance offices. The other explosion happened at Kooki Towers near the CPS.

According to hospital management, 7 of the victims are in critical condition. All 27 are currently receiving medical help.

“We have not lost anyone, as of now,” hospital management said.

“I just heard a loud sound and the next thing I know, I was bleeding,” one of the injured said.

Those admitted at Mulago hospital include police officers who were stationed at the Central Police Station at the time of the explosions. One of the officers was injured on the foot.

Another officer, who was still in shock told NTV Uganda that he has severe pain in his legs and one of his hands.

“We were from an operation when the explosion happened. I don’t know what hit us,” the officer, who was in tears, told NTV Uganda.

Preliminary reports suggest that there are deaths involved in the explosions on Tuesday. NTV Uganda reporter, Sudhir Byaruhanga, who is at the scene of the incident, said that he saw signs that people had lost life in that explosion.
