Misinformation hampers COVID-19 vaccination exercise in some districts
On Monday, Uganda received over 1.6 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine. This consignment, which will be distributed in Kampala, is expected to help us reach the target of 22 million vaccinations before life can return to normal. However, a low vaccine uptake is hindering these hopes, with some districts having to return un-utilised vaccines. We bring you a report from Eastern Uganda, where a lack of trust among the population has kept many away from vaccination centres.
