Kagadi businessman shot dead

KAGADI: Residents of Kasojo trading centre in Mpeefu Sub County in Kagadi District have been left in shock after unknown gunman shot dead a renowned businessman.


Mr Abudalla Ntambara, a resident of the same area and chairperson of traditional healers in greater Kibaale was shot dead at his shop Thursday evening by the assailant who was riding on a motorcycle.

The officer in charge crime investigations in Kagadi District, Mr Moses Muramuzi said the incident happened at about at 9:10pm.
“The man was shot at his shop last evening and we are investigating the matter now,” Mr Muramuzi said Friday morning.

Ntambara who unsuccessfully contested in the last area LCI elections, owned two shops, a maize grain milling machine and Kitare nursery and primary school at Kasojo trading Centre.
Mr Bright Mwebeshi, an eye witness said he heard three gunshots at the time of the incident and later got to know that it was one of the area residents who had been attacked.

He added that the suspect was wearing a hood and riding on a Bajaj boxer motorcycle.
He said that Ntambara had no known wrangle with anyone that might have culminated into his brutal killing.
Mr Frank Bigonoka, another resident we found at the crime scene said residents saw the motorcycle but could not identify its registration number because of darkness.

Residents have however, expressed concern over the nature of attack which has reportedly never happened in the area and appealed to security agencies to tighten security.


The Mpeefu Sub County councilor, Mr Andrew Mbuusa asked government to improve on its investigating ability in order to discover the source of the guns that are being used in assassinating innocent Ugandans.
By the time of filing this story, scene of crime officers and forensic experts had visited the scene.
