Global funding cuts threaten HIV progress in Uganda
A historic funding crisis continues to threaten decades of progress in the fight against HIV, unless governments worldwide make radical shifts in HIV programming and financing. The latest Global AIDS Update report highlights the devastating impact of sudden, large-scale funding cuts from international donors on countries heavily affected by HIV, such as Uganda. Stakeholders are now calling for social contracting between government and civil society as a way to bridge some of these critical gaps.
