Gen Katumba Wamala shot at near his home

Former Minister of Works and Transport, Gen Edward Katumba Wamala has survived an assassination attempt. The attempt on his life happened near his home in Bukoto at around 9 am.
According to reports, the assassins, riding on a motorcycle, shot at the General while he left his home for a burial. The incident happened on Kitosi road in Kisaasi.
Reports indicate that the General is safe and has been rushed to Malcolm Hospital in Kisaasi.
Witnesses say that Gen Katumba Wamala was moving with his daughter. She has also been rushed to hospital.
According to Brig Flavia Byekwaso, the UPDF spokesperson, her sources say that the driver of the former Minister was killed in the incident.
