Friday May 14 2021

Buganda Road Court has issued Criminal Summons to Augustine Ojobile one of the youths in the Jobless Brotherhood who allegedly dropped heads of piglets in Kampala during protests over corruption.

Ojobile is jointly charged with Mayanja Robert for their role in storming Kampala Central Police Station with fresh piglet heads tied around their necks. This happened after they had dropped other heads at the Bank of Uganda head offices in Kampala on 15th November 2018.

Augustine Ojobile who was not present in Court today and Robert Mayanja are charged with being a common nuisance.

Presiding Grade One Magistrate Fidelis Otwao wants Ojobile to appear in Court on 28th May 2021 to receive Judgement.

According to Mayanja, Ojabile recently tested positive for COVID-19 and is still under quarantine.

The prosecution alleges that on the fateful date, at Buganda Road near the Central Police Station parking yard, the two suspects carried the heads of pigs along the road causing inconvenience to the public.

According to Police the heads of pigs that the duo dropped at Bank of Uganda were accompanied by placards of pictures of the Central Bank governor, Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile and Juma Kisaame, the then managing director of DFCU bank.

They have since denied the charges and are out on bail.
