East African crude pipeline construction to start end of 2023
The ministry of energy says construction of the East African crude oil pipeline will start at least by November this year, according to a cabinet resolution that included approving an application by the EACOP company for the construction licence. EACOP runs 1,443km from Kabaale, Hoima district in Uganda to the Chongoleani Peninsula near Tanga Port in Tanzania and is expected to bring in capital investments worth about 4 billion USD. This was during a briefing of the media at the government media centre earlier today.
