COFFEE BUSINESS: Women seek edge in coffee sales
With Uganda now earning approximately 2 Trillion shillings in export returns from coffee, a cross-section of women within the value chain, are seeking more space in this business. Teopista Nakkungu, the Chief Coordinator of the International Coffee Women's Alliance Uganda, says their priority is structuring how their members engage from farm activities to post-harvest handling value addition and export business. She was speaking during a field inspection of women-owned farms in coffee-growing areas of the Sebei and Bugisu sub-region.
