TAKE NOTE: Will NSSF savers finally get to smile
The treasury has asked for the minister responsible for National Social Security Fund (NSSF) to be afforded the powers to vary the amount declared for mid term access by the savers, year on year. The proposal is a shift away from the previous one where the mid term access was fixed at a proposed 20 per cent for those aged 45 and above, who have saved for a period of 10 years. These calls came as the ministry of finance interfaced with the house of gender committee which also strongly insisted on overseeing the fund to it at a session with the scrutinising committee of parliament.
