HEALTH FOCUS: Highlighting the welfare concerns of Uganda’s nurses
Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council has postponed this months’ commemoration of the International Nurses day to 12th June because it coincides with the swearing-in ceremony of President Yoweri Museveni. The day, normally observed on 12th May around the world, marks the contributions that nurses make to society and this year’s theme seeks to show how nursing will look into the future as well how the profession will transform the next stage of healthcare. However, this comes at a time when nurses in Uganda’s public hospitals are on strike due to several factors affecting their work.
