We use Sobi to track criminals - Gen. Tumwine

Security minister Gen Elly Tumwine has admitted that security agencies are working with self-professed criminal Paddy Sserunjoji aka Sobi.
Gen. Tumwine claims Sobi is fundamental in tracing the criminals he used to operate with.
Most Ugandans will remember Sobi as the man who called a Press conference during the Christmas season and claimed he was the leader of the Kifeesi gang, and they would not be robbing people during the Christmas season.
He has publically claimed to be working with security agencies, and this is one of the few times authorities have confirmed his claims.
At one time, he also accused Police officers of being involved in petty crime.
Appearing before the Parliament's Human Rights Committee, Gen Elly Tumwine also denied claims of torture in safe houses.
Gen Tumwine, says those who are kept in safe houses live in secure conditions.
Parliament's Human Rights Committee that is investigating reports on the existence of safe houses in Lwamayuba in Kalangala and Kyengera in Wakiso district.
