UCU to resume studies with e-learning

The government of Uganda has okayed plans by Uganda Christian University (UCU) to resume studies using E-learning tools.

According to the newly installed vice-chancellor, Associate Professor Aaron Mushengyezi, the National Council for Higher Education has already given them approval for the school of medicine and the school of dentistry in addition to certifying their E-learning.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor academics, Dr John Kitayimbwa gave the program to follow in the new normal saying that E-campus will open on 15 October with pending exams.

Kitayimbwa adds that for 5 years they have been preparing the E-learning tools which the institution’s administrators feel will be compatible with the facilities and will be managed by personnel they have prepared.

David Mugawe the deputy vice-chancellor finance has assured staff whose services were suspended due to COVID-19 pandemic that their contracts will resume as soon as the situation normalizes. He adds that special contracts are to be given to those who will be working during this season.

The spokesperson of the National Council for Higher Education, Saul Waigoro confirmed the clearance of UCU after meeting the required standards.
