President Museveni appoints John Musinguzi Rujoki as new CG of URA

President Kaguta Museveni has today Sunday, 29th 2020 appointed John Musinguzi Rujoki as the new Commissioner General of Uganda Revenue Authority, replacing Doris Akol with immediate effect.
The announcement was made on Sunday afternoon via his twitter platform
“By virtue of powers granted to me by the Constitution, I have appointed Mr John Musinguzi Rujoki as the new Commissioner General of URA,” reads part of the tweet.
Musinguzi is also the Chairperson of NITA-U Board of Directors since August, 2017. He is also the Presidential advisor on matters ICT and investment.
He holds a Master’s degree in Computing and Information systems of University of Greenwich and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics of Makerere University. He initially was a Senior Presidential Advisor on ICT and Investment.
Musinguzi replaces Doris Akol who replaced Allen Kagina in 2014.
"It has been an absolute honor and privilege to be your team leader for 5 years and 5 months, thanks for being loyal to me," Akol said in a good bye email to URA staff.
'May God bless you all, the struggle to liberate our country continues." Akol finalised her email to URA staff.
In the same spirit, the President revealed that he submitted Dr Michael Atingi-Ego’s name to Parliament for vetting for the position of the new Deputy Governor, Bank of Uganda
