Frank Tumwebaze hands over ICT Minister's office to Judith Nabakooba

Hon Frank Tumwebaze has on Tuesday, officially handed over the office of the Minister of ICT and national Guidance to newly appointed Hon Judith Nabakooba .

Frank Tumwebaze was appointed the Minister of Information Communications Technology (ICT) back in June 2016 and has served in the position for 3 years. In December 2019, after a cabinet reshuffle by the President, Tumwebaze was suggested for the Position of Minister of gender, Labour and Social Development.

After the new Ministers’ swearing in ceremony on Monday 13th January 2020, the Office of the Minister of ICT will now be in the hands of Judith Nabakooba and Peter Ogwanga (appointed state minister for ICT). The two newly appointed Ministers have vowed put the President's words against Corruption in action.

Judith Nabakooba is a new face in the recently reshuffled cabinet. Before earning the stint as minister for ICT, Nabakooba served in the Police force for 9 years from 2004-2015 where she also was the secretary to the institutions Credit Association called Exodus SACCO. In 2016, she stood for the Mityana District Woman MP position on the NRM party ticket and was elected.

New state Minister for ICT, Peter Ogwang is yet another new face in the new look of the Cabinet. He previously was the youth MP for the eastern region before he was elected the MP for Usuk county in Katakwi district. He has recently been dragged to court over his academic qualifications to serve as an MP and a Minister.
