Boda Bodas banned from Jinja road, Wandegeya, Lugogo Bypass among other places

Kampala City Council Authority has banned Boda Bodas from a number of roads and areas around Kampala city effective Monday, 27th July when their transportation of passengers resumes.
In a letter released by KCCA, the areas include Wampewo Roundabout- Jinja Road to Kitgum House junction – Access Road – Mukwano Road to Clock Tower –Kafumbe Mukasa Road –Kisenyi Road –Mackay Road- Kyaggwe Road- Watoto Church-Bombo Road – Wandegeya – Hajji Musa Kasule Road- Mulago roundabout- Kamwokya junction – Sturrock Road – Prince Charles Drive- Lugogo Bypass–Jinja Road- Wampewo Roundabout.
The decision is believed to have been passed by Cabinet when they sat
This has raised mixed reactions.
The letter also has a number of regulations that will have to be followed by Boda Boda riders on which include operating at gazetted Boda Boda stages and registration among others.
This comes at the heels of our months of no work for boda boda riders after Government banned their transportation of passengers over fears that they would facilitate the spread of COVID-19.
