Thursday November 08 2018
The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has banned three match officials that managed the game between Vipers SC and Express FC that took place on Wednesday at Wankulukuku.
This follows a number of questionable decisions throughout the game with the biggest one being the 83rd Vipers goal that was scored by Tito Okello, which was found to be an offside goal.
This goal is what led to the 1-1 draw after Express goal that came from a penalty taken by Tony Odur in the 36th minute.
The three officials are Mr. Kirangwa Ronald (centre referee), Ms. Nantabo Lydia Wanyama (1st Assistant referee) and Mr. Kakembo Samuel (2nd Assistant referee).
The three have been banned for 3 years, 5 years and 60 days respectively.
The decision which comes a day after the game was played and takes immediate effect left Vipers in the second position on the table while Express sits in the sixth position.
The communication from the football governing body in the country came through a statement released on Thursday afternoon.
