Prime minister, Security chiefs meet speaker Kadaga ahead of age limit debate
The speaker will be hoping to avert the chaotic scenes that followed the initial tabling of the motion to amend article 102b to remove age limits

The Office of the Speaker of Parliament has been a beehive of activity ahead of the planned tabling of the Constitutional Amendment Bill 2017.

Speaker Rebecca Kadaga received a number of guests today including the Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda, IGP General Kale Kayihura, and Chief of Defense Forces General David Muhoozi.

 

The speaker will be hoping to avert the chaotic scenes that followed the initial tabling of the motion to amend article 102b to remove age limits

The 27th of September 2017 will always be remembered in the political history of Uganda because of the fistfight that broke out between MPs and security agents as 24 suspended MPs were forcefully removed from Parliament.

The  MPs had sought to block the tabling a motion seeking leave of Parliament to draft a private member’s bill to remove  the presidential age limit
