Justice Musota issued the order on the request of Electoral Commission lawyer Eric Sabiiti who requested the court for ample time to finalize negotiations with a petitioner, one James Tweheyo, so as to reach a settlement

The High Court in Kampala has ordered that there shall be no LC elections January next year.

This is after the head of the Civil Division of the High Court Justice Stephen Musota has issued another interim order halting the much-anticipated elections until 30th January 2018.

Justice Musota issued the order on the request of Electoral Commission lawyer Eric Sabiiti who requested the court for ample time to finalize negotiations with a petitioner, one James Tweheyo, so as to reach a settlement.

Sabiiti informed the court that these negotiations are in advanced stages and soon the two parties will reach a consensus on the matter.
