One person has died, one hjas been discharged while four others remain admitted following the Police's engagement in running battles with Mityana residents who were protesting the ill-treatment of the area Member of Parliament, Francis Zaake.

According to a press statement released by Police Spokesperson Emilian Kayima this afternoon, the rioters blocked roads affecting traffic flow in the area.

Kayima also revealed that the injured are admitted at Mityana hospital where they are receiving medical attention.

He added that the deceased has been identified as Samuel Ssekitoleko, a resident of Myanzi, Kasanda District.

Kayima also notes that twenty people have been arrested to help in investigations to ascertain the motive behind the protests.
