MP Kyagulanyi was found with a gun, will face court Martial, says Gen. Ali

The first deputy Prime Minister and leader of Government business Gen Moses Ali, has told Parliament that Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi was found with a Gun, and will be charged before the Army Court-martial in Gulu.

According to the Newvision Newspaper, the Gun, General Moses Ali is referring to, was reportedly found by Police during a Police search of the MP's hotel room at the Pacific hotel in Arua

Gen Ali told parliament that Hon. Kyagulanyi was flown to Gulu hospital where he is receiving treatment, he also clarified that the other 3 MPs will appear before the chief magistrate tomorrow in Gulu.

Gen. Ali also told parliament that the total number of those arrested is 33.

Gen. Ali's statement came a few hours after speaker Rebecca Kadaga suspended the house and ordered Moses Ali to gather more information on the whereabouts of the MPs.

The MPs Paul Mwiru, Gerald Karuhanga, Francis Zaake, and Kyagulanyi Robert aka Bobi Wine, were arrested in Arua during Monday's chaos and up to now, no one knows where they are being held.

The MPs were in Arua to campaign for opposition-leaning MP Kasiano Wadri, and in the chaos that ensued, President Museveni said the Car that carries his luggage was stoned, while MP Robert Kyagulanyi's driver Yasin Kawuma was shot dead.

Kasiano is in the race to become Arua Municipality MP, where he is competing with 11 other candidates.

Parliament has nominated MPs; Jovah Kamateka, Baryayanga Aja, Amule Ruth, Allan Ssewanyana, Medard Ssegona to attend the court-martial in Gulu on Thursday to hear the case of MPs arrested in relation to the insecurity in Arua.
They will also be at Gulu Magistrates court where the other MPs will be charged.
